
The pair met on Johnny’s debut feature film Acts of Godfrey and formed a symbiotic working relationship that has continued in the development of Johnny’s next two scripts, Ghost of a Chance and Goodbye Mother.
Julie Clark is an experienced producer/line producer who has worked on wide range of high-profile feature films and TV dramas alongside directors such as Stephen Poliakoff, Mike Hodges, Damon Thomas, Marc Munden and SJ Clarkson. Her expertise in script breakdowns, scheduling and budgeting is invaluable for assessing the feasibility of bringing a script to the screen, whilst her ability to balance high production values with funding constraints will always ensure that the budget maximises the potential of the story.
Johnny Daukes has written and produced music, TV, radio and now film to great critical acclaim. He was described by Time Out as a ‘darkly energetic satirical talent’, praised by the Mail on Sunday for his ‘fevered imagination’, the NME christened him ‘the Dennis Potter of Indie rock’ and his multiple abilities as writer, director and musician led critic David Quantick to remark on his ‘Orson Welles like mono-creator attitude’.
His debut film, which he wrote, directed and scored is already creating a buzz from its limited screenings in London and his next two projected films promise to be as engaging, entertaining and innovative.
In forming Jupiter and Teardrop, Julie Clark and Johnny Daukes are combining their complementary strengths in a streamlined partnership of flair, innovation and originality of creative and systematic thought.
